Jahkee William Cooper, a 20-year-old African American male from Williamston, North Carolina, was shot and killed on August 27, 2019, during an attempted robbery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, Cooper and two other individuals attempted to break into a house on Reid Road. The homeowner, in an act of self-defense, shot and killed Cooper. The other suspects managed to escape but were later apprehended and charged with multiple felonies.
