Avery Marquavis Ponder, a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on November 17, 2019, in Gastonia, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on West Hudson Boulevard near the Gaston County Health Department. When police arrived at the scene, they found Avery Ponder suffering from a gunshot wound.
