Nigel Tasheem Bracey, a resident of Hallsboro, was identified as the perpetrator. Bracey, who had a criminal history, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with Joshua's death. He also faced charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and habitual felon. Additionally, Bracey pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in connection to an assault that occurred in jail in November 2021.
