Tiyon Markivus Williams, a 20-year-old African American male from Greenville, NC, tragically passed away on September 22, 2020. He was a graduate of J.H. Rose High School and worked as a cook at Red Lobster and Pizza Hut. Tiyon was passionate about music and aspired to be a rapper. He is remembered fondly by his family, friends, and girlfriend, Courtney Mitchell.
The Greenville Police Department launched an investigation into Tiyon's death, which was determined to be a homicide.
The incident occurred at The Davis Apartments on East 10th Street, where Tiyon was shot inside the doorway of his apartment. Detectives believe multiple individuals were involved in the shooting, and the case remains active and ongoing. The police are working closely with the District Attorney’s Office to determine charges once the investigation concludes.
