William Stanton Kinney, a 36-year-old man from Raleigh, NC, was found with a gunshot wound near the Hammond Road exit on I-40 early on the morning of August 1, 2020. He was discovered by officers around 3:30 a.m. and was transported to WakeMed, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Raleigh Police Department launched an investigation into his death, which was ruled a homicide.
