Aaliyah Jewels Woods, a 23-year-old woman from High Point, North Carolina, tragically lost her life on December 1, 2020. Aaliyah, who was born on May 4, 1997, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, was known for her love of family, community, and the color red. She was deeply cherished by her family and friends, and her untimely death left a void in their lives.
On the evening of December 1, 2020, Aaliyah was shot to death around 6:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of Park Street in High Point.
Despite the efforts of officers and EMS to save her, she succumbed to her wounds. The High Point Police Department immediately launched an investigation into her homicide, conducting interviews and searching for evidence.
The investigation revealed that Aaliyah was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when she was shot by someone in a dark-colored SUV. It is believed that she was not the intended target of the shooting. The police canvassed the neighborhood, seeking information from residents and working closely with the community to solve the case. The High Point Community Against Violence also assisted in the search for answers.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward and help bring justice for Aaliyah Jewels Woods.
