Jefferson Heavner, a 26-year-old white male from Hickory, North Carolina, was tragically killed on January 22, 2016. Heavner, a single father, was driving on an icy road in Catawba County when he encountered a vehicle that had spun out. Along with two other individuals, Heavner stopped to assist the stranded driver, Marvin Jacob Lee. Lee, who was allegedly under the influence of drugs or alcohol, became belligerent when the group decided to call the police. Lee then exited his vehicle and began ...
