Jefferson Heavner, a 26-year-old white male from Hickory, North Carolina, was tragically killed on January 22, 2016. Heavner, a single father, was driving on an icy road in Catawba County when he encountered a vehicle that had spun out. Along with two other individuals, Heavner stopped to assist the stranded driver, Marvin Jacob Lee.
