Nicole Kenyotta Dixon, a 43-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on December 18, 2020, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Nicole was a resident of 428 Lansing Street, Raleigh, and her death has left a significant void in the lives of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, David Scott, her son, Amen Cooke, and her grandparents, Annie Mae Scott and David Sloan.
Nicole is survived by her mother, Annie Dixon, her children, De'Jhaun Faison, Dvaudre Justice, Dvaujhe Justice, and Samuel Justice, as well as her grandchildren, Ny'Meir McLamb, Traylen Sauls, Zy'eer Justice, and Neioni McLamb, all of Raleigh. She also leaves behind her siblings, Melissa Scott, David Davis, and Ronald Davis, along with a host of other relatives and close friends.
Nicole's death was the result of a shooting incident that occurred on the night of December 18, 2020. The Raleigh Police Department reported that officers were called to the 400 block of Lansing Street, between Poole Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, just before 9 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Nicole and a male victim who had both been shot. Nicole succumbed to her injuries, while the male victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and the police have urged anyone with information to contact Raleigh CrimeStoppers.
As of now, there have been no arrests or suspects publicly identified in connection with Nicole's death.
