Marshayla Urrell Pasley, a 20-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on January 13, 2021, in Greenville, North Carolina. Marshayla was at her home on Long Drive when multiple shots were fired into the residence from outside. She was found unresponsive by deputies from the Pitt County Sheriff's Office and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 3-year-old son was also injured in the shooting but survived after being treated at Vidant Medical Center.
