In the quiet of a Wednesday night in Gobles, Michigan, the life of 52-year-old Joseph Wayne Worley came to a sudden and violent end. On April 22, 2026, authorities were called to a residence in Cheshire Township where they found Worley deceased from a single gunshot wound to the back of his head. The call to 911 was made by his 44-year-old girlfriend, Jennifer Dana Moore, who allegedly informed the dispatcher, "I just shot my boyfriend."

Office arrived at the home on East Baseline Road, they found an emotional scene. Moore was reportedly crying hysterically and repeatedly stated, "I shot him" and "I killed him." First responders could see Worley's feet on the ground through a window as Moore stood over him. After being ordered out of the residence, Moore was taken into custody without incident.
The events leading up to the fatal shooting apparently began after the couple returned home from dinner.
