Jamias Lowon Shropshire, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on January 24, 2021, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred just after midnight near the 4000 block of Merlane Drive, close to the Sugar Creek neighborhood. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon and found Jamias Shropshire and two other victims with gunshot wounds. Jamias was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
