Destiny Roland, a 16-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on April 3, 2021, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Destiny was one of the victims of a mass shooting that occurred at a house party on Kidder Street. The shooting resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including Destiny, and left several others injured. The other victims who lost their lives were Zieyah Wade, 22, and Shamir Jones, 21.
