Carleton Cartier, a 58-year-old man from Charlotte, NC, was tragically shot and killed on August 28, 2021, while driving on Interstate 85. The incident occurred in the evening when several shots were fired at Cartier's vehicle from another car. Despite emergency aid, Cartier was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting caused significant traffic delays as the scene was investigated.
Following the incident, Kevin Jordan, a 24-year-old man, was arrested and charged with Cartier's murder.
