Yulonda Basica Hollis, a 49-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on August 31, 2021, in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The Kannapolis Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the 900 block of Packard Avenue, near the intersection with Ford Street, just before 4 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Yulonda Basica Hollis suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
