Konye Melvin, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on September 22, 2021, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The incident occurred during a home invasion at a residence on Charlie Drive. Konye was shot three times, and his cousin, 19-year-old Marquez Melvin, was also killed in the attack. Marquez's half-brother, Maurice Melvin Jr., was injured but survived. The family believes the attack was personal, given the nature of the injuries sustained by the victims.
