Alton Smith, an 82-year-old man from Fayetteville, NC, tragically passed away on November 9, 2020. He was found dead in his home on Bandore Circle in east Fayetteville, after a shooting incident that occurred around 11:15 a.m. Smith's grandson, who was hiding in a bedroom at the time, called 911 to report the shooting. According to the grandson, Smith had opened the front door just before the shots were fired.
The investigation into Smith's death led to the arrest of Kenneth Adolph Wright
