Jennifer "Jenny" Taylor Locklear, a 43-year-old woman from Laurinburg, NC, tragically passed away on October 29, 2021. Her death was part of a double homicide that also claimed the life of her mother, 71-year-old Linda Hatcher Taylor. The bodies of both women were discovered in their home on South Pine Street. Jennifer Locklear had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and her mother, Linda Taylor, was also pronounced dead at the scene due to gunshot injuries.
The Laurinburg Police
Department, in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, conducted an extensive investigation into the double homicide. After eight months of thorough investigation, a 16-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Jennifer Locklear and Linda Taylor. The juvenile suspect is currently being held in juvenile detention within the NC Department of Juvenile Justice facilities and has been transferred to Superior Adult court pending trial.
The case has garnered significant attention from the community, with many people, including the victims' close friends, seeking justice for the murders.
