Troy McKinley Lofton, a 31-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on February 6, 2022, in Wilson, North Carolina. The incident occurred at approximately 3:17 a.m. on the 4200 block of Thistle Drive Northwest. Officers arrived at the scene to find Lofton dead from a gunshot wound. The circumstances leading to the shooting were not immediately clear, and the investigation remained active for several months.
