Darius Davon Moore, a 40-year-old African American male from Laurinburg, NC, tragically lost his life on March 15, 2022. The incident occurred in the early evening when Laurinburg police received a call around 6 p.m. regarding a gunshot victim in the area of Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers were informed that Moore was being transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle.
Despite the medical staff's efforts to save him, Moore was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Laurinburg Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide, marking it as the second homicide within the city limits that year and the third in the county.
