Kaziah Zamir Wilkerson, a 17-year-old African American male, tragically passed away on March 24, 2022, in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Kaziah was found deceased at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC, after being shot on Willow Street. The Laurinburg Police Department responded to the scene and discovered Kaziah with fatal gunshot wounds. Two other individuals were also injured in the incident but survived.
The investigation led to the arrest of Isaiah Thomas Easterling, a
24-year-old male from Laurinburg. Easterling was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, going armed to the terror of the people, and discharging a firearm within city limits. The Laurinburg Police Department thanked the community for their assistance in the investigation.
