John Fitzgerald McCoy, a 49-year-old African American male, was tragically murdered on October 14, 2021, in Laurinburg, North Carolina. The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 PM on East Covington Street near Second Street. Officers responded to reports of shots fired into a vehicle and found McCoy unresponsive in the driver's seat of a 2013 Nissan Sentra. He was transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
