Kquadem Treyondus Parker, a 28-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on May 1, 2022, in Clinton, North Carolina. Born on March 31, 1994, in Clinton, NC, Parker was a beloved member of his community, known for his love of arts, barbering, basketball, and fishing. He was a graduate of Sampson Community College and attended Hobbton High School. Parker was a devoted father to three daughters: Latrinity Parker, Jadah Parker, and Kimiya Parker.
He was also a cherished son, brother, and friend to many.
On the night of his death, Parker was attending a party at Kirtwood Park in Clinton. The event, which drew around 200 attendees, took a tragic turn when shots rang out just before 3 a.m. Parker and his sister, Brittany Parker, were among those present when the shooting occurred. Parker, along with Jonas Highsmith, was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, where Parker succumbed to his injuries. Highsmith was admitted to the intensive care unit but was expected to survive. A third individual sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
The investigation into Parker's death is ongoing, with the Sampson County Sheriff's Office leading the efforts. Despite the large number of attendees at the party, many had dispersed by the time authorities arrived, making it challenging to gather information.
