On May 20, 2022, Darrell Ford, a 32-year-old man from Fairmont, NC, tragically lost his life due to a gunshot wound. The incident occurred as a result of an ongoing family dispute. Darrell Ford was found in the driveway of his residence suffering from gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at UNC Health Southeastern's medical center.
James Allen Fulton, a 47-year-old man from Marietta, was arrested in connection with Ford's death.
Fulton was charged with second-degree murder and was detained in the Dillon County Detention Center in South Carolina before being extradited back to North Carolina for trial. The Robeson County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case.
