Savannah Lyn Anglin, a 23-year-old woman from Mocksville, NC, was tragically found dead on June 26, 2022. The incident occurred at a residence on Junction Road, where law enforcement responded to a disturbance call. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Savannah Lyn Anglin deceased inside the home, while 29-year-old Justin Dewayne Goodman was found dead in the front yard.
Both victims had suffered gunshot wounds.
The Davie County Sheriff's Office identified 31-year-old Anthony LaQuane Brooks as the primary suspect in the double homicide. Brooks, described as a Black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 260 pounds, was known to frequent the Cooleemee area of Davie County, as well as Salisbury and Rowan County. Authorities issued warrants for his arrest on two counts of homicide.
The investigation revealed that a 911 call had been made by a woman, presumably Savannah Lyn Anglin, reporting that someone was shooting at her. The dispatcher heard a loud disturbance before the line went silent. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found two young children inside the home, unharmed. The children were placed in the custody of Davie County Social Services.
