Wayne Lawson Byrd, a 34-year-old male, was found shot to death on June 27, 2022, near the Plaza Midwood area of east Charlotte, NC. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call on Merry Oaks Road and discovered Byrd unresponsive from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, Byrd was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into Byrd's death is ongoing, with CMPD actively seeking information about potential suspects and motives. As of now, no arrests ...
