Catoine Tyreke Funderburk, a 27-year-old African American male, was tragically killed in a shooting on August 13, 2022, in northwest Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sumter Avenue near Rozzelles Ferry Road. Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call and found Funderburk suffering from a gunshot wound.
