Benjamen Garfield Aymond, a 22-year-old male police officer of Caucasian ethnicity, was shot and killed on November 11, 1904, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Officer Aymond was attempting to arrest a man who had murdered his sister-in-law when he was fatally shot at the intersection of 8th and Arial Streets. The suspect was later convicted of Officer Aymond's murder and was executed by hanging on February 17, 1905.
