On Christmas of 1982, the quiet community of Dixie Inn, Louisiana, was shaken by the deaths of 55-year-old Newton 'Newt' Brown and his wife, Erlene. The couple was discovered in their home on Christmas morning by their children, having been fatally shot.

The investigation quickly zeroed in on two recent escapees from the Webster Parish Jail, Jimmy Wingo and Jimmy L. Glass. The duo had broken out of the nearby correctional facility just the day before the Browns were killed. Law enforcemen ...
