In the late hours of a Sunday evening in New Orleans, the lives of two teenagers were tragically cut short in a burst of violence. Nineteen-year-old Freddie Smith Jr., a male, and his friend, 18-year-old Toney Gleason, were together in the 4300 block of North Villere Street on March 7, 2010. The quiet of the night was shattered at approximately 11 p.m. when they were suddenly attacked in what authorities would describe as an ambush.
