Deiontay 'Pee-Wee' Melancon, a 23-year-old African American male, passed away on May 1, 2010, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His death was a significant loss to his family and community. Deiontay was the loving son of Sonja Melancon and the grandson of Sandra Smith. He was also a brother to Laquanda James and Sandrika Melancon. Deiontay's untimely death left a void in the lives of his family and friends, who remember him fondly.
