Derrick W. Howard Jr., a 25-year-old African American male, was found shot to death on January 26, 2012, in a white Nissan pick-up truck in the 2600 block of D'Abadie Street in the 7th Ward of New Orleans. Born on January 7, 1987, Derrick was the loving son of Carolyn Miller and Derrick W. Howard Sr., and the stepson of Kevin Carter and Charrell Howard. His untimely death left his family and community in deep sorrow.
