On a tragic Saturday evening in Marrero, Louisiana, the life of 24-year-old Dwight P. Hansberry, an African American male, was cut short. On March 9, 2013, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Hansberry was fatally shot inside a residence. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Hansberry unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
