In the early morning hours of Thursday, May 30, 2013, the life of 19-year-old Angel Danielle Brooks, a young African-American mother, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, responded to a call of a possible shooting at the Palmer Apartments, a complex in the northern part of the city.
