In the waning hours of a November evening in New Orleans, 37-year-old Dion Joseph Richard Sr. was found dead in the 1800 block of North Robertson Street. It was November 29, 2013, and the man, an African American male, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. His body was discovered in a place of somber irony, in front of a church in the city's 7th Ward.
