A late-night shooting on a Saturday in New Orleans claimed the life of 22-year-old Stephan Raymond. The incident, which occurred on December 14, 2013, also resulted in the death of 23-year-old Johnathan Sam, marking the event as a double homicide.
The violence unfolded around 7:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of Amelia Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Sam on the porch of a residence, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
Raymond was found nearby and was transported to Interim LSU Public Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
At the time of the incident, the New Orleans Police Department classified the case as a double homicide.
