On a chilly Saturday evening in New Orleans, January 25, 2014, the life of a promising 20-year-old aspiring rapper was tragically cut short. Donald Isadore 'Beezle' Barge, an African-American male known for his passion for music and his quiet nature, was leaving a home in the Algiers neighborhood around 6 p.m. when the sound of gunfire shattered the calm.
Barge was struck multiple times in a hail of bullets, a violent and sudden end to a life that was just beginning.
Despite being wounded, Barge managed to drive his blue vehicle for a couple of blocks, a desperate attempt to escape his unknown assailant. His flight ended when his car crashed through a fence and came to a stop in the front yard of a home on Ptolemy Street.
