In the afternoon hours of November 23, 2022, a sense of holiday anticipation in New Orleans was shattered by an act of violence. Ervin Walker Jr., a 31-year-old male, found his life abruptly ended by a gunshot wound. The incident unfolded in the 2200 block of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, where police responded to a call of shots fired at approximately 3:47 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Walker unresponsive inside a vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
