On August 27, 2023, at approximately 6 p.m., New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2600 block of Poydras Street in the Tulane-Gravier neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals inside a vehicle: a male victim, later identified as 44-year-old William Bailey III, and a female victim.
