On December 15, 2024, 21-year-old Nathan Coleman Jr. was fatally shot in a quadruple shooting outside the Franklin Discount store in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 6100 block of Franklin Avenue. Another victim, 16-year-old Camren Dent, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Coleman succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Two other individuals, a 17-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man, sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
