Michael Patin, a 49-year-old male from Lafayette, Louisiana, tragically lost his life on February 2, 2014. Patin was employed at the Jockey Lot flea market near Carencro, where he was fatally shot during an attempted vehicle theft. The incident occurred when a group of juveniles attempted to break into the business. Patin confronted one of the suspects, Earl Joseph III, who had just turned 15 two days prior to the incident.
