Dwayne Batiste Jr., a 22-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on November 21, 2014, in Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident occurred in the 800 block of West Gilman Street. Following his death, the Lafayette Police Department formed a task force to investigate the unsolved homicides in the area, including Batiste's case.
