In the early hours of a Monday morning in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the life of 34-year-old Kenneth Joseph Brown of Lafayette was tragically cut short. On January 5, 2015, Brown was fatally shot while inside his vehicle near Club Vibes on East Prien Lake Road. The incident occurred shortly before 12:40 a.m., a time when the area was active with people heading to a party at the nightclub.
Another individual was present in the vehicle with Brown but was fortunately unharmed.
Deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, who were already at the nightclub for security, were quickly alerted to the shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered that Brown's vehicle, which was parked on the side of the road, had a bullet hole in the panel between the driver's side front fender and door, and the driver's side window was shattered.
