In the spring of 2015, the life of 32-year-old Aaron Brooks, a Black male from Lafayette, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. On May 8, 2015, Brooks was found deceased in his home, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound. The initial investigation into his death quickly determined that he had been the target of a violent crime, having been both robbed and shot multiple times inside his residence on Foch Street.
