In the warm evening of June 18, 2015, a burst of violence shattered the life of Phillip Noel Thornabar, a 25-year-old Black/African American man, in the 7th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. He was discovered inside a vehicle, having been fatally wounded by gunfire. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Thornabar succumbed to his injuries.
