In June of 2015, a sense of unease began to grow when Timothy Prather, a 51-year-old male, failed to show up for his job. An employer, concerned after Prather's uncharacteristic absence, decided to check on him at his residence on Tilley Road in the Leesville area of Louisiana. Upon arrival, the employer encountered a woman identified only as 'Amber,' who was present inside Prather's home.
After a brief interaction, the employer left to contact emergency services.
When law enforcement deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered Prather deceased inside his home. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. The woman the employer had seen, Amber Lisotta, had fled the residence before the authorities arrived. Investigators located a long rifle at the scene, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.
A short time later, Amber Lisotta, who was 31 years old at the time, was apprehended by law enforcement. The subsequent investigation into Prather's death led to legal proceedings against her. Lisotta eventually pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of Timothy Prather. Following her plea, a judge in the 30th Judicial District Court sentenced her to 40 years in prison for her role in his death.
