On the evening of August 10, 2015, a tragedy unfolded in a Gretna, Louisiana apartment that claimed the life of 33-year-old Latoya Fountain. A mother of two, she was spending a quiet evening watching television with her boyfriend while her two young sons were nearby in the same room. The ordinary night was shattered at approximately 9:30 p.m. when multiple gunshots were fired from outside the apartment, tearing through the front door.
