On March 1, 2022, 42-year-old Jose Salomon Fernandez Barrientos was tragically shot and killed in his home located in the 1700 block of Newton Street in Gretna, Louisiana. Fernandez, a Hispanic male, was in a bedroom with his girlfriend, who was also the sister of the perpetrator, Jose Robles Marques.
