Rayshawn Boullt, a 15-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, January 21, 2017, in the 9th Ward of New Orleans. The incident, which also left a 13-year-old male injured, occurred around 5:52 p.m. near the intersection of Desire and Galvez streets.
Officers from the New Orleans Police Department's Fifth District responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting and discovered the teenager unresponsive on the sidewalk.
He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after, the 13-year-old victim arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to his arm.
The New Orleans Police Department opened a homicide investigation into the double shooting. At the time, they urged anyone with information to contact their homicide division or Crimestoppers. However, there have been no subsequent public announcements regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in connection with the death of Rayshawn Boullt. The case is one of many unsolved homicides in the city.
