In the New Orleans East neighborhood, a burst of gunfire on a Sunday evening shattered the night's calm, leaving a trail of bloodshed and unanswered questions. On March 27, 2022, 20-year-old Michael Reynoso-Garcia, a Hispanic male, was caught in the deadly crossfire at the intersection of Hayne Boulevard and Vincent Street. The shooting incident ultimately claimed his life and that of another young man, Axel Damian, also 20 years of age.
Emergency responders arrived at a chaotic scene
where one of the victims was pronounced dead. Reynoso-Garcia, gravely wounded, was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
