In the winter of 2017, the life of 25-year-old Latonya Reshawna Clark was tragically cut short in New Orleans. On the night of Friday, January 27, 2017, Clark was fatally wounded in a triple shooting that occurred in the Treme neighborhood. Two other women were also injured in the incident.
Clark, a mother of four, was remembered as a sweet and beloved individual. Her sudden death left her family, including her mother, four children, fiancé, and numerous siblings, devastated.
Her funeral services were held in the city she called home, and she was laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In the months following the shooting, a grand jury indicted several individuals in connection with a string of violent crimes, including the murder of Latonya Clark. Errol Krish and Edmond Bacchus were charged with second-degree murder for her death. Additionally, Krish, Bacchus, Corey Coleman, and Tyrone Scott faced charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice in the investigation of her murder and other related crimes. The district attorney's office indicated that the violent spree was believed to be gang-related. Krish and Bacchus were also indicted on two counts of attempted second-degree murder related to the same incident in which Clark was killed.
